The Blue Jay is a blade designed to be a field trowel (for digging and throwing), survival chef’s knife, and spear head.
The prototype shown in the picture is to heavy, so the next three prototypes made from 1/4″ thick 1095 steel will have variations in the way they are ground in order to determine the optimal weight and balance.
These prototypes will be for sale with rudimentary sheaths, and if the design is requested in the future, it will be made from a highly abrasion resistant, stainless steel.
